Download our Strategic PlanWhile the NTU’s remit is broad, we are focused primarily on three main outcomes. These are, creating a culture of service excellence; building a robust Monitoring and Evaluation system; and, developing a knowledgeable cadre of Monitoring and Evaluation professionals.

As a Public Service, we are faced with many challenges both internally and externally. In this regard, the NTU remains committed to continuing to improve the ways in which we engage with our key stakeholders, both within as well as outside of the government system, to deliver quality outcomes. The NTU now find itself at a pivotal yet exciting time in the transformation of Government’s service delivery. Our place within the Ministry of Planning and Sustainable Development has given us the opportunity over the next three years, to shape how Government performance can be improved and transformed with the highest levels of efficiency and effectiveness.

Some of the NTU’s major achievements to date include:

  • Preparation of the Annual Report on Performance for Government;
  • Development of a National Performance Framework (2012-2014) to measure Government’s performance;
  • Development of a National Indicator System aligned to our National Outcomes;
  • Establishment of a Development Evaluation Forum;
  • Establishment of the ‘TransforME’ Website, which now provides performance information of project/programme execution by Ministries;
  • Development of a 3-Year Strategic Plan for the NTU, which essentially provides the roadmap for the institutionalising of Results-Based Management across the Public Sector.

Today, the NTU has emerged as the focal point within Government for Performance Information and the Monitoring and Evaluation of Government’s performance. The Unit continues to embark on its mission of ‘Leading Results-Based Management and transforming governance, towards delivering measurable results to the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago’ in order to achieve its vision of ‘Continuously redefining Government’s Performance’.
